March 8th NCAA + NIT Bracketology (Men's)
The majority of the changes come from AQ bids being punched last night, which did send some ripple effects through the NIT as well. Let’s recap:
San Francisco put up a valiant effort against #1 overall seed Gonzaga but ultimately lost. They slide to the very last 9 seed on my seed list, putting them in position to be passed and fall to a double digit seed by Selection Sunday
St. Mary’s keeps climbing, up to #18 overall. If they can find a way to beat Gonzaga again in the WCC Final tonight, they will be a #4 seed in tomorrow’s update
Two more #1 seeds in their conference tournaments, Cleveland State and Towson, lost last night, bumping them straight into the NIT. Northern Kentucky and UNC Wilmington fill the placeholder AQ spots in the NCAA Tournament, while Grand Canyon and Wagner fall out of the NIT field as a result
